To obtain a copy of a police report from the El Monte Police Department, you must follow the procedure below:
- You must come to the El Monte Police Department lobby and fill out a “REQUEST FOR A POLICE REPORT” form.
- A police report will generally be ready for release in approximately ten (10) business days; all reports must be reviewed and approved for release. Please allow the necessary time before coming in to request a police report.
A report may be delayed under certain conditions or it may not be available for release for valid reasons. There may also be reports that are considered confidential and may not be released. Police reports that are within the El Monte jurisdiction may only be released through the El Monte Police Records Bureau.
If you have any questions regarding the release of police reports, contact the Records Bureau at (626) 580-2115.
