There is a recall on the Gotway and Begode electric unicycles by eWheels, which was issued by the manufacturer on December 01, 2022. The recall, which involves around 500 unicycles, was issued due to a problem with the lithium-ion batteries igniting and catching on fire. Models that are being recalled include the MSP, Nikola+, RS, and the MSuper Pro. The unicycles were sold in black and show either the GW or RS logo on one or both sides of the bike. The rim on the Nikola+ models will have multi-colored lights, and the RS and MSP models have red lines on the pedals.
Consumers are advised to stop using the bikes immediately. In addition, they should contact eWheels to receive a replacement battery pack. However, some people have already been injured from a fire-related accident on one of these bikes. If you are one of these consumers, we would like to talk to you about your rights and legal options, which may include a product liability lawsuit against the manufacturer. Contact us today to schedule a free case review with one of our attorneys.
