Paul Razo, 46, a former officer with the Los Angeles Police Department (LAPD), has been charged with eight counts of lewd acts with a child after allegations of sexually assaulting four boys. According to reports, the abuse occurred between 2007 and 2016 in Razo’s home in Covina, California. Two of the boys were his young relatives, according to officials.
According to officials, Razo was with the LAPD for about 24 years until March of 2023, when he “separated” from the department, although the reason for that separation was not disclosed. Currently, both an internal affairs investigation and a criminal investigation are ongoing. However, Razo was with the LAPD when the alleged abuse occurred.
The authorities believe that there may additional victims, both because of Razo’s access to children and the nature of the allegations that have already been made.
