On June 16, 2022, TJX issued a recall for their Nest Swing Egg Chairs. According to the recall, number 22-163, the recalled chairs can tip over or collapse while a consumer is seated in the chair, resulting in a fall risk. The recall has affected over 30,000 units of the product.
The nest swing egg chairs affected by the recall have a metal circle base that is attached to a metal pole; the chairs are wicker oval-shaped and hang by a hook and chain. The chairs come with a round seating cushion. The hangtag on the chairs have the brand names “Martha Stewart” or “Tommy Bahama” as the chairs were sold under both brands. Of the nine styles sold, eight came with a decorative pillow.

According to the recall, the company has received at least 27 reports of the swing egg chairs collapsing or tipping over. These reports include 19 reports of injuries, some of which included broken ribs, collapsed lungs, cuts, scrapes, and soreness.
The company is urging consumers to stop using the recalled chairs and return them to a store for a full refund or a refund in the form of a store gift card.
