On April 25, 2024, Crosman issued a recall for the Crosman Icon Air Rifles. According to the recall, number 24-212, uncocked and loaded air rifles can potentially discharge if jolted or dropped, posing a risk of injury. The recall affects about 2,500 units of the air rifles.
The recall specifically includes .177 and .22 caliber air rifles. The affected air rifles are PCP-Powered Bolt-Actioned and have model numbers CPI77S and CPI22S (model numbers can be find on the left-hand side of the rifle). The model name can be found located on the right-hand side of the rifle.
So far, the company has received at least one report of an unintended discharge of the air rifle, although no injuries have been reported.
The defective air rifles were sold from March 2022 through March 2024 for approximately $310 each. They were available at a variety of stores, including Do It Best Hardware, True Value, Service Star, and Sportsman’s Guide stores around the country. They were also available online via www.Crosman.com, www.pyramydair.com, and www.Amazon.com.
The company is urging all affected consumers to stop using the air rifles and contact them for a refund either in the form of store credit or a check (after a confirmed return).
If you or a member or your family suffered harm associated with the defective Crosman Icon Air Rifles, you could have the right to file a lawsuit. It is important that you do not agree to a return or any sort of refund; instead, you should explore the legal options available to you.
