Fatal Crash in Blooming Kills 3, Injures 1
3 siblings were fatally injured while out walking with their mother in Bloomington. The incident occurred around 8:30 p.m. on Sunday, June 24th, while the family was in their neighborhood.
A young man driving a Dodge Challenger lost control while driving the vehicle and wound up striking the family. The siblings were Andrea Jaureguis, 13, Manuel Jaureguis, 17, and Angel Jaureguis, 20; their mother, 49 year old Marie, was injured and transported to the hospital.
The driver of the Challenger, Leonardo Bravo, 19, was not arrested at the scene and officers said that there were no suspicions of drugs or alcohol playing a role in the crash. They did say, however, that speeding could have been a factor, a point that was echoed by residents of the area. The crash happened on Slover Ave, where homeowners say that cars routinely speed at night.
