3-Year-Old Girl’s Fingers Partially Severed in Escalator Accident at Salt Lake City Store | 9-20-2017
On Wednesday a 3-year-old girl of Salt Lake City, Utah had two of her fingers partially severed in an escalator accident at a local store. According to the Salt Lake City Fire Department, emergency crews responded to the grocery store, Smith’s Marketplace, after the 3-year-old reportedly had reportedly gotten her fingers cut in the escalator. Two of the girl’s fingers were severed below the knuckle, and authorities are still unclear of what led up to the accident. Public Information Officer of the Salt Lake City Fire Department, Audra Sorenson released a statement urging parents to pay attention to the warning signs on elevators. The grocery store, Smith’s Marketplace also released a statement apologizing for the incident and praised the timely response of the medical professionals to the incident.
